As a recipient of the "Innovation Award" from Business Weekly we feature dining that resembles "fine dining" as close as we can despite the regulations from the government. Being managed by a Registered Dietitian and Dietary Manager some of the highlights of the program are:

Food is served by "waitresses" from a steam buffet after the resident places their order with some of the foods prepared right at the buffet.
An "Always Menu" developed by the resident council that is always available if the main entrée is not what the resident may want and changed quarterly by the council.
A beverage and desert cart that is moved through out the dining experience with a wide selection of choices.
Extended dining hours when the resident has up to 11/2 hours to enjoy a meal when they wish too.

All residents when admitted are seated at a special section which is supervised by a staff member trained to be aware of eating difficulties and to assess special needs of the resident prior to integration into the full dining room. For those residents who may need assisted with eating supervised tables are provided.

We take weight loss very seriously and meet weekly to review resident's weight to assure proper nutrition. The team is composed of the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Registered Dietitian, Occupational Therapist, Activities / Social Work Director and Dietary Assistant.

Residents are provided with snacks throughout the day and evening and may request food items at any time of the day. We encourage families to bring in foods that the resident may enjoy and provide refrigeration for those items; also a canteen is available.
