Pastoral Services

In 1948, Clifford and Alfred Froh purchased the old County Infirmary in Sturgis, Michigan and decided to call it the Froh Brothers Homestead. This non-profit corporation, which was open to all faiths, welcomed its first resident in 1953 and began providing senior living and healthcare services to meet the needs of the aging. Today, Thurston Woods Village continues as a Mennonite-affiliated, not-for-profit corporation, and ministry dedicated to carrying out its faith based mission.

“We are pleased to have a wonderful working relationship with our local churches and their pastor,” states Pastor Russell. Our Thurston Woods Village family enjoy their church’s services held on our campus. It is my desire to come alongside local pastors to be a help to them as the minister to their people at Thurston Woods.

As Pastor of Thurston Woods Village I have the great privilege of serving our campus residents in many different capacities including:

Attending outings with residents to various places. These are most memorable in renewing and building on memories and friendships.
I attend the bedside of residents who may not have a pastor as they reach the end of life’s journey.
Conducting funeral services per family request.
Visiting our residents when they are in the hospital acting as liaison to staff and friends.
Providing several Bible studies and welcome all to attend.
Being available at any time day or night.
